Brisbane Road Runners Overview
Brisbane Road Runners Club is Brisbane’s only running club where our only priority is providing our members, and the broader running community, with our fortnightly races.
The club caters for all levels of athletes from the casual runner to the elite athlete, as the philosophy is to assist members to achieve their goals at their own pace. Our races are open to members and visitors alike.
Events are conducted on an accurately measured 5km course along Riverside Drive at West End, and for distances longer than 5km, multiple loops are used. We race distances from 5km through to 35km with multiple distance available at every event. Your time is measured electronically using wireless technology so that you can get an accurate net time, every time. Fruit and electrolytes are also provided at every event.
Included in our yearly race calendar are seven Championship Races with distances from 5km to the Half Marathon. At the conclusion of these race, medals are awarded for first, second and third male and female in each five-year age category allowing you to compete with runners of a similar age.
Our events are a great way of meeting like-minded people, swapping running experiences and challenging yourself to achieve your running goals. They also give you the opportunity to train in the best way possible, in a race.
Brisbane Road Runners – Bring a Friend – 3rd November
Our next event on the 3rd of November is one of our “Bring-A-Friend” events. Members are used to running for free but on the 3rd, everyone races for free, members, friends and visitors alike.
This event is also a 10km Novice event where a winner’s prize is given to the first male and female member who has not previously won a race in 2019 - it’s a great chance to get your hands on a coveted BRRC mug or plate.
Visitors can also join on the day and run not just all the runs in 2020 but the remaining runs in 2019 including our Dash-and-Splash end of year celebration, free of charge. We look forward to seeing you there.
