Last Wednesday evening at QSAC, the first Running CEOs training session was held to help prepare runners of all abilities for the Running CEOS FAST FESTIVAL being held this September. Alongside expert coaches Benita Willis, Pat Carroll and Patrick Nispel, runners were guided through running drills, exercises and repetitions to held them improve their strength and fitness. The night was very enjoyable and enabled the runners to profit from the invaluable knowledge of the coaches, including advice about injuries, training and nutrition.

“The first Running CEO’s training night was a lot of fun! I enjoyed coaching the beginners – a top group who loved the challenge on the night. Pat Carroll and Pat Nispel took the intermediate and advanced running group who worked well for some repetitions on the track,” says coach Benita.

If you missed out on the night, there are still two more training nights coming up on the 4th of July and the 8th of August.

One of the best parts about the Running CEOS FAST FESTIVAL is that when you enter, you are able to join a team led by one of Brisbane’s CEOs and help fundraise for the charity that your team represents. One of the teams, Women’s Running Network, is being led by coach Benita and will be fundraising for the charity Women’s Legal Service.

“Join my team, Women’s Running Network and you’ll get free coaching, make some new friends and raise money for Women’s Legal Service, an amazing charity,” says Benita. “I love helping beginners as at the start of our program many people can’t run for 30sec but by the end of the program, they are running 10km and feeling confident and amazing. It’s all about your individual running journey and taking time out to focus on yourself.”
